On sale now from the Apple Store, the $99 accessory promises up to 25 hours of use on a single charge.
Apple iPhone users have long complained about lackluster battery life on their smartphones, but a new battery case from Cupertino might help combat some of those power-drain issues.
On sale in the Apple Store now for $99, the Smart Battery Case promises iPhone 6s and iPhone 6 owners up to 25 hours of talk time on a single charge. You can also get 20 hours of video playback and Internet use up to 18 hours on LTE, Apple says.
The official accessory features a soft microfiber interior lining, a flexible hinge for easy phone removal, and a soft-touch silicone outside for smooth hand-to-pocket interactions.
Just peel back the top lining and slide your iPhone into the Lightning connector at the bottom. To refuel, plug the battery case into any Lightning-friendly components, including the USB cable that comes with your handset.
Users can also swipe down to see their phone’s battery status directly in the Notification Center; plug it in and you can watch the iPhone and external battery charge on the Lock screen.
The iPhone 6s Smart Battery Case is available now in white or charcoal gray. It can be delivered to your door or ordered online and picked up in stores.
The news comes amidst reports about Apple’s next-gen devices. According to rumors, Apple will release a new 4-inch handset with an A9 processor and NFC support in the first half of 2016. Apple has made no announcements, though.
